Drummer, percussionist.
Born in 1942. Bengt Berger started playing drums in his youth and visited India a couple of times during the 60's, studying North Indian music for Pandit Taranath Rama Rao (tabla and pakhawaj) and South Indian music for Vidwan P.S. Devarajan (mridangam). Berger studied West African music in the mid-70's: drumming in the regions of Volta and Brong-Ahafu, and xylophone in northern Ghana.
Berger has played with - among many others - Zia Fariduddin Dagar, K. Sridhar och Debu Chaudhuri, during their concerts in Sweden. Berger also collaborated with Don Cherry.

Among the many bands Berger has played with through the years are Arbete & Fritid, Rena Rama, Ett Minne for Livet, Spjärnsvallet, Arkimedes Badkar, Bitter Funeral Beer Band, Chapter 7, Enteli, and a duo with saxophone and flute player Roland Keijser. In 1996 Ivo Nilsson, Roland Keijser, Bosse Skoglund och Berger together created the stage act "Van Huygen's Principle". Bengt Berger's latest album is "Tarang"
