Legendary trombonist and backing vocalist in the reggae group Culture. Long awaited soulful music: This is the return of the rootsman!

Joseph knows his reggae. He was around when Lee “Scratch” Perry, Robbie Shakespeare, Leroy Sibbles (Heptones) and Aston “Familyman” Barret were new in the business. At the time when reggae was born they were all playing and hanging out together in various studios in Kingston. A friend of his mother had a son named Joseph Hill, and the two of them used to improvise and practice together long before Joseph became a member of the Culture band, playing trombone and singing backing vocals. – “We used to cook I-tal food, sing and play guitar by a bredren named I-I across the river…”

Joseph is known as a humble man that sing and improvise with great passion and joy. Over the years he has been gaining experience of jazz and blues as well as soul and gospel music. He has even improvised over punk-rock and seems to find a melody to almost anything. But the new album is nothing but good quality roots reggae music with melodies and lyrics in abundance. Producer Dan Markebäck added a modern sound and sound-engineer Internal Dread added some dub and attitude. Designed for the new century:
